In 1998, the Rapid City community was shocked by the tragic death of Baby Jane Doe, an infant left to die in a dumpster.  Inspired, our students responded by raising money to create a sitting area in front of the Middle School building to remember Baby Jane.

Recently this garden has been transformed into the Legacy Brick Memorial project, a way to continue to raise awareness of Pro-life Ministries and to bring much needed support to the RCCSS Campus Ministry Office.

We invite you to join us to honor your deceased loved ones by purchasing one or more commemorative bricks. Funds raised will be designated to the RCCSS Campus Ministry Office in order to expand activities and improvements which will benefit the entire RCCSS family.

The cost of a commemorative brick is $250 which includes engraving the brick (up to 3 lines of 13 characters) and placement of the brick in the cross garden.

During November, as the Church commemorates all the deceased, a Mass will be offered at the location of the Memorial which you are invited to attend.

Your purchase of a personalized brick will not only become a permanent recognition of your loved ones, but will remind us of the Communion of Saints that help our whole community grow.  As the Campus Ministry is the heart and the soul of each and every Catholic school system, we appreciate your partnership in celebrating your loved one and expanding the Campus Ministries.

Campus Ministry is responsible for the following school system activities. Your donation helps us to make these activities better!

  • Ongoing masses, reconciliation services, times of adoration, eucharistic processions, rosaries, living stations of the cross, and other prayer services.
  • Pastoral and service oriented activities to support the administration, staff, and students including: student/parent groups, service projects, annual mission trips, coordination with diocesan faith events, and more.
  • Annual retreats for various grade levels which requires planning and preparation, training of student leadership team, and coordinating with various diocesan offices, lay speakers, and priests throughout the diocese.
